A sugary sweet movie where kindness conquers all dreams do come true and… y’know what? I needed that right now!!!
Lesley Manville is as marvelous as ever, Isabelle Huppert is a HOOT, Lucas Bravo is lovely, and Alba Baptista shines in a ing role with more resonance than you’d initially expect. There’s nothing revolutionary here structurally or thematically, but a story doesn’t need to be convoluted or complex to be satisfying, and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris shows the beauty in simplicity (except for when it comes to those delicately designed dresses - WOWZA Jenny Beavan).
It’s a movie your grandma might like most of all, but there’s more than enough here for everyone to enjoy, should you allow yourself to indulge in the adorable antics of Mrs. Harris.
