this is why casting matters because it’s BELIEVABLE i get it anne hathaway looks stunning; and every time she graced the screen, every scene she performed in, i was mesmerized by her. it oozes through the screen that she’s having so much fun. her acting IS IMMACULATE—she’s so talented and natural it really just feels like she’s just existing and not performing and the film is all the better for it. and THE FILM IS SO FUN too?? but also genuinely kind of glad i ended up seeing this at home, as much as i wish it was in available to screen theaters outside of just streaming, because it would be embarrassing to cry this much in public around other people while trying to watch a movie lmao. gosh, unclose me alone unraveled me into tears. it’s just absolutely breathtaking? definitely reminded me in parts of Prime (2005); XOXO by Axie Oh; Red, White, and Royal Blue (the series and the novel by Casey McQuiston) and experiences friends have shared about dating people in the public eye. I’m gonna need about 60000000000 more of these, movie studios, please and thank you!
