CINDY, CINDY YOUR ASS LOOKS FAT!

Fear Street Part Three brings us back to the last film's jaw-dropper of an ending with the best of the series' cast in brand new roles. I've never been the biggest fan of folk horror, but this works; the switch from slasher to supernatural distinguishes this chapter from the last two as the town grows sinister, effectively keeping you guessing what the evil of Fear Street actually is. As the witch hunt begins, so does the feeling of dread, with…
Candyman was a gem for the 90s audience, and Candyman will be another gem today. I can't put into words how surreal this viewing experience was, sitting in a jam packed theater for the first time in a long time with franchise fans new and old. This cast was magnificent; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, and Colman Domingo effectively bringing the urban legend back to life, with themes surrounding race and social class utilized in the best way since the…
Fresh was my most anticipated film from this year's Sundance lineup (after Final Cut pulled out), and had me feeling uneasy for its entire run. I understand why some aren't going to like this because it bounces back and forth with black comedy and disgusting bits of violence while highlighting casual misogyny and other issues in the modern dating scene, which is a messy combination to even begin to think about.

Yeah I just sat my ass down to watch the entire film again at home, and I really fucking like it. So many things that could have and should have been different to appeal to the expectations, but it totally does not care and exists as its own entity. Hope this gets the reappraisal that Season of the Witch and for whatever fucking reason Zombie's Halloween II currently has. Good shit.
Scream has been my favorite film franchise for well over half of my lifetime, and if you asked me just two years ago, I would've said you were crazy to think that the main series would ever come back to the big screen. Truth of the matter is, Wes Craven's last film being Scream 4 ended his directorial career on a high note, but left the door open just wide enough for new creatives to fulfill his…
Fear Street is without a doubt the most fun I've had with a Netflix original, and I'm so grateful for this early access opportunity. I was eager to see how well it would translate from teen novel to film, and if you're nervous about it going light on the horror elements, you're in for a treat. 1994 from the get-go works as an homage to slashics such as Scream while bringing its own fresh feel to the genre.
The characters…

Smile 2 is definitely a sequel that never needed to exist, but it is also one that seems to enhance every aspect of what the original was trying to go for. Total mayhem from the very first minute, picking up right after the 2022 film leaves us hanging, and keeps fuel in the tank for two-hours of gory metaphysical horror I wouldn't have any other way. Sure, the bit looks ridiculous, but Parker Finn also…
