The Country Bears

2002

★★ Watched

I was disappointed by the lack of Christopher Walken. But even putting that aside, the movie seems to be made strictly for young kids. So I can’t get too upset over it. All it really is is just a silly, forgettable kids film. But one that has some ittedly funny moments, particularly from Walken.

1995

Ace, this time around, is not only annoying; but he’s also just a complete a-hole. In the first film, I him only being a jerk to people who kind of deserved it. But here, he’s impossibly rude to virtually everyone he meets for no real reason.

There are times when Carey goes so over the top with how obnoxious he is, that I could not help but laugh at his sheer lunacy. But it’s not enough to save the movie, which doesn’t have a whole lot going for it beyond Carey’s crazy antics.

The game starts out friendly but then it starts to descend into a shouting match, as Gere gets fed up with the commentary coming from the other patients watching them. It's a good scene; and it's because I liked this scene so much that I started to realize that the movie should have been more about…
