Kit Lazer’s review published on Letterboxd:
In high school my principal would play “Good Riddance” by Green Day over the intercom every year on the last day of school. So I guess you could say that you merely adopted nostalgia and like Bane I was born to it.
I can’t imagine any nerd over 30 not having fun with this movie. What feels like a hilarious, almost-heartwarming ode to an era of blockbuster filmmaking is tainted by the knowledge that this is only a new beginning, as long as there is cash.
The action isn’t always executed very well and it looks, well, hideous at times but Billy Madison isn’t winning any cinematography awards either—it’s just fucking funny, dude.
