A competent movie made by hollywood hacks trying to capture the energy of Raimi's spiderman. Feels very dated because this is so clearly made for kids, and we're supposed to take these types of movies VERY seriously now. I was obsessed with this movie growing up, so I can't be completely objective - but I have to ire how economical (if stupid) the story is. Gets the job done. Back when being a hollywood hack meant you had to AT LEAST be a competent storyteller
