French director, born in 1968 in Eaubonne.
Initially a designer and then a stylist, Jean-Charles Hue began his filmmaking career in the early 2000s. He has dedicated several films to the communities of travelers, notably the Yeniches in La BM du Seigneur (2011). With Carne Viva (2009), he started a series of works set in the Mexican city on the U.S. border. His cinema explores the relationship between belief and reality, examining both physical and imaginary territories and creating a dialogue between the magical dimension that permeates our rituals and the illusionary power of cinema. Mange tes morts: Tu ne diras point won the Jean Vigo prize in 2014. He is currently finishing his next feature film Sang craché des lèvres belles as well as a television series in the gypsy universe: Malditos.
