Believe what they say. DUNE Part Two lives up to the hype. A modern science fiction masterpiece. 

First, the story. Phenomenal. I was always at the edge of my seat. It is such a great tale about power and religion, all the while an epic war rages on. Paul Atreides is an incredible character with such an amazing arch that I can’t wait to see the finale of.

Next thing I have to talk about is Greig Fraser‘s beyond stunning cinematography. He is a master in his craft. Every shot is beautiful and he does such an incredible job in showing scale. To be honest, this entire film was created by masters. Denis Villeneuve‘s direction, ambition, and ion for this project is so commendable. All of the effort he puts in totally pays off. Last but not least, Han Zimmer. The score he wrote is perfection. 

The performances were phenomenal too. Timothée Chalamet continues to prove why he is one of the best in this new generation of actors. The same can be said about Zendaya and Florence Pugh, even with the minimal screen time the latter had. Austin Butler was amazing. His character Feyd-Rautha is absolutely psychotic, and Butler plays that to a tee. Rebecca Ferguson is excellent once again. In this film, her character evolves to even more of a zealot than in the last making for a frightening yet entertaining performance.

Overall, this is not just an incredible science fiction film, but an incredible piece of cinema. I saw this in IMAX, and I advise everyone else to do the same because you want to see this in the biggest and loudest theater possible.
