What a dull, oversaturated, uninteresting, and extremely loud mess. Every single song feels like a rehash of an equivalent storybeat from the first one, but also sounds genuinely terrible. Everyone is screaming constantly. God forbid an audience have to occasionally sit with any sense of narrative weight without 3 people narrating what is happening onscreen. Somehow feels incredibly dated to a decade older than it is through referential humor that my actual child sister didn't get at all. Feels like a direct to dvd sequel, I can't believe we're back around to that

I can't tell if this is intended for cool horror nerds (fango shoutouts, Argento homages, your standard teen movie superficial "fuck the man" moments, Edward Furlong's sick as hell attic bedroom, Primus) or if it's Tipper Gore's wet dream on of the entire entire conceit of the plot. Either way I watched it entirely to see beautiful clunky old tech, neon colors, and cheesy CGI and it delivered. Not quite as much as I hoped, but enough to be worth it.

Cautionary tale against naming your kids things like Brick and Gooper.

Doesn't really capture the thematic elements as well as the play in my opinion, but makes up for it in the performances. Absolute masterclass in melodramatic acting, particularly from Newman, Taylor, and Ives. Not the best adaptation of a Tennessee Williams play, likely attributable to ole' Will Hays, but keeps enough of the poetic spirit of the text to be engaging.

Rest in peace Mr. Lynch. Thank you for sharing your art with the world and inspiring so much joy and creativity with it.
