honestly? ....work!

caught an early screening thanks to regal's monday mystery movie program and i was definitely on the edge of my seat for the duration. a fun twist on your typical shark flicks, but it's the performances that sell this one. incredible commitment from the two leads.

for those who haven't seen it or checked it out yet - SKIP THE TRAILER. gives away basically everything and the experience is bound to be better if you go in totally blind.

I don’t want to over hype this but watching this with a couple of friends last night was the most fun I’ve had in theaters all year! We went into this without having ever seen the trailers, and only being told if you like early 2000s slashers (which we do) then we would enjoy this.

We were cracking up during most of it so it’s no surprise to find out after that the same guy who directed Tucker and Dale…

I love horror, I love slashers, and I assumed this was like a Five Nights At Freddy’s type thing that I would never see. I saw that Eli Craig was directing and my interest piqued slightly. Who among us can deny Tucker and Dale?. When antsy mid-week depression creeps in and Thunderbolts still owns the majority of screens in town, you gotta do what you gotta do.

My assumptions were wrong! Springy, funny, with somewhat unexpected plot turns, this is…

LOVED IT! This was gruesome and hilarious! I loved everything about it! JANET RONNIE & QUIN NEW HORROR QUEENS! Also having a argument when there are bunch of killer clowns trying to get you is the gayest thing ever & i am so happy we got to witness that & get that kind of gay representation!

Our generation’s Shakesqueer, RuPaul Charles, once said, “You ain’t gotta reinvent the wheel… the wheel is fine, gurl.” And just like that quote, Clown in a Cornfield doesn’t necessarily reinvent the slasher genre. A lot of the beats feel familiar, and a killer clown isn’t exactly groundbreaking anymore. However, what it does with its premise is a whole lot of fun. I had such a good time with this. I loved the small-town vibes, some of the kills, and most importantly, I laughed quite a bit throughout the film. I think if you’re a big fan of slashers like me, you’ll probably enjoy this.
