Human Flow

2017

In HUMAN FLOW, artist and activist Ai Weiwei travels through more than twenty countries to document the global refugee crisis. From the beaches of Lesbos to the deserts of Iraq and the camps in Kenya, he meets people who have been forced to leave their homes due to war, climate change, or oppression.

With unforgettable imagery – from an endless sea of abandoned life jackets to burning oil fields – Ai shows how mass migration is often reduced to statistics. But HUMAN FLOW resists that dehumanisation. The film is not a manifesto, but a visually powerful call for empathy. A film that not only reveals the scale of the problem but also the urgent need to look, to listen, and not to turn away.
