De Cinema’s review published on Letterboxd:
Esquire magazine journalist Lloyd Vogel is known for his cynical writing style. When for his latest assignment, he has to write an article about Fred Rogers, the host of children’s programme Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, he sees it as beneath him. Lloyd is convinced that Fred’s friendly persona is an act and wants to expose him. During their conversations, the two opposites build an unlikely friendship. Audience darling Tom Hanks becomes the beloved Mister Rogers, who as a media personality left a legacy of love with his television programmes for different generations of American viewers.
