ZOMERFILMCOLLEGE 2025
From July 6 to 12, we expect you back in De Cinema in Antwerp for ZOMERFILMCOLLEGE! For seven days we will immerse ourselves in two film historical themes, through fifteen or so lectures by world-renowned critics and academics, Q&As with filmmakers and some twenty screenings of both original 35mm copies and recent digital restorations.
In the summer programme ETERNAL SUMMER, ENDLESS NIGHTS, sunlit discoveries are contrasted with inciting hedonism of the endless night. From 1 June to 30 September 2025.

ETERNAL SUMMER
That endless summer full of sunny days that make our hearts burn... Is there anything better than falling in love while being bored during a long vacation? Since the beginning of cinema, the transition from young to adolescent has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for filmmakers. Everyone must live through that uncomfortable phase of growing pains, young romances, and first rejections. This ETERNAL SUMMER programme stands for a collection of films where coming-of-age, music, and discovery set the tone. Emerging sexuality and boundless hope, but also unforgettable festivals and summery ennui, are lying in wait.
ENDLESS NIGHTS
When the night falls, the world changes. With ENDLESS NIGHTS, we dive into the uninhibited nightlife. From Chinese rave clubs to high-class discos in New York: throughout film history, the dancing floor has been used in various ways as free space for the pushing of boundaries, flirting romances, and inciting hedonism. This programme researches the highs and lows of club culture, the ambiguity of filmic nocturnes and the salvation of the everlasting night.
