Final Destination Bloodlines

2025

★★★★ Liked Watched

Final Destination returns for a 6th time with the same plot, yet it’s so damned entertaining!
One kill was so crazy I screamed out loud In the theatre. It was more like a morbid shriek of shock and delight.   If you’ve ever enjoyed any of these movies then you’ll likely have fun with Bloodlines.
The Tony Todd cameo is great ❤️.

Bring Her Back

The Philippou brothers sophomore film is another creative supernatural nightmare. I love the uniqueness that they bring to their stories. Another aspect I love is that they deliver some truly shocking moments that had me squirming and looking away from the screen.

Some viewers will love the ambiguity of some plot elements. I’m looking forward to some spoilers to help answer a couple of questions I have about the plot.

Clown in a Cornfield

Clown in a Cornfield is a slasher specifically made to entertain folks over 40. The 90s nostalgia is so totally fly.

I explained the opening to my wife, and I said it reminded me of Hocus Pocus (1993). She responded by saying it sounded like opening of The Craft (1996).  Then the plot shifted to Scream (1996).
That’s when the sheriff arrived. “Oh my god!  It’s the fat guy from Mad TV (1995)!”
As a man of a certain age,…

Bleeding Hearts

Tony Todd!!!

Well he was definitely in it.

I’m sure everyone checked out when it became a soft core porno (sorry, I didn’t think they made them in the 2000s). That is also when it became a slasher. This movie is also a whole lotta things.

That’s what I did like and hate about the movie. It never knows what it’s supposed to be.  I wanted to turn it off constantly yet I was entertained.

Godzilla × Kong: The New Empire

I’m not sure how I would feel about this film if viewed from home, but it’s a 5⭐️ jam from the fourth row at the IMAX Theatre. Once it reached the finale, it turned into an insane zero gravity monkey mayhem thrill ride.

I watched this with my 9 year old son, who has seen all 38 Godzilla movies (39 counting Bambi Meets Godzilla), and he gives this 5.1 stars.  He’s already asked to go see it again.

Barbarian was such a fun what the fuck experience that had me squirming in my seat and laughing out loud. It’s the perfect hilarious nightmare for anyone looking for rated R Halloween fun.

It has excellent pacing. It builds the anticipation of fear before really delivering on the payoff. It does a great job too of resetting so you are not sure when the next what the fuckity is going to hit. The anticipation is just so fun.
