One liners out the ass, John Waters does not miss when it comes to his scathing sense of humor. The jabs the film makes ring true today, which says a lot about Hollywood never changing ig. I hadn't seen Cecil B. Demented since my 18th birthday and it was so overdue for a rewatch. Also Goth Maggie Gyllenhaal call me.

Evergreen. Love love love the costuming in this film, the bright colors and very late 80s style was just immaculate. The characters are all incredibly well acted and everyone steals the scenes they're in. The amount of history referenced and done in an incredibly esthetically pleasing way is so sick. One of the most important American films ever tbh.
