Robert Daniels’s review published on Letterboxd:
One of the real surprises at risk, “Un Poeta” is a bleak, dark comedy about a failed poet trying to process his insecurities about his career and his estranged relationship with his daughter by molding a young poet into his image. This film loves writing. It loves the process, the philosophy and devotion required to do it. The monologues delivered Ubeimar Rios, the sad sap at the center of this off-kilter narrative, about writing are silly yet poignant because they’re so earnest. Idk. Maybe I just loved it because I also talk about writing in philosophical abstract .
